Paint with Me

Welcome to the Art Studio of Laura McClanhan, a private residence in a kipuka surrounded by the 2018 lava flow. Your RSVP will open our communication. (All classes are for adults 18+)

1-1 Artist Mentorship offering is with me for artists, by appointment, in person or online zoom meetings. The design is to assist you in re-starting or starting a painting practice of your own. We can bring your artwork to the next level or help you devlope your own process. My goal is to help you find your visual voice. Professionalism for exhibition may also be discussed. This is on an idividual basis and tailored to your specific needs, experience and background. Three hour sessions recommended and can be scheduled once or ongoing weekly; suggested time: (yet flexible); weekdays, 9:00 am to Noon $133/3 hrs. initial supplies included. $100/3hrs. thereafter with BYO supplies A custom list of art supplies needing to be purchased by Mentee will be determined after first session. This will be based upon matching your concepts to the required medium to be used.

Group Intuitive Painting Classes; 2 or more students for private classes; $65 each/2 Hrs., using 11"x14" canvas or $88 each /2hrs. using a 16"x20" canvas. (all supplies included for groups with a variety of acrylic mediums). A short sound healing or guided meditation will start the session to center and activate visualization.

Group Skill Building Workshop/Paint Party; 2 -12 students for a private workshop; $88 each/3Hr workshop. Focus on one of these specialized acrylic paint techniques: ArtResin, Pour Painting, Fluid Acrylics/Alcohol inks or Timed Pass the Canvas Brushwork. All supplies included. We will meet on the paint deck. You are welcome to plan this as a party with BYO food, pls. no alcohol. Catering by Kathy Weber, founder of Taste of Puna, upon request with two weeks notice. Available Saturdays, suggested time (yet flexible) Noon to 3 pm.
