About the event

Spend 1–3 months living and creating on an eight-acre lava landscape overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Pohoiki on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. This self-directed residency offers solitude balanced with personalized mentorship, studio support, and opportunities to engage with the local creative community. This is primarily a self-directed residency with structured mentoring woven throughout your stay. Your host and facilitator, Laura McClanahan, MFA of Crystal Matrix Art.

Artists are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, develop a new body of work, and conclude their residency with a solo exhibition in the on-site Pohoiki Gallery.
